Scenario-based ADAS Safety Testing

News spotlight:
Cognata’s new testing bundles now enable executing hundreds of simulation permutation runs in parallel

Physically testing each ADAS safety feature on every vehicle variant according to international standards, while important, can be time-consuming, expensive, and cumbersome. Cognata’s simulation platform allows for scenario-based ADAS testing which offers ADAS developers an end-to-end solution, including structured test plans in one click, to verify the performance of their ADAS systems.

Cognata’s simulation provides a realistic environment that can perfectly simulate the ADAS performance in an operational environment. Each test can provide up to hundreds of permutations at once, and allows users to aggregate different scenarios so that their generated simulations could run and be analyzed as part of one unit.

AEB Car-to-Car systems

Car-to-car rear impacts are one of the most frequent accidents happening on the roads and represent over a quarter of all crashes. To support drivers in avoiding them, car manufacturers offer avoidance technology that warns and ultimately stops the vehicle by itself.

Cognata’s simulation offers AEB Car-to-Car systems testing in four scenarios: CCRs, CCRm, CCRb, and CCRtap, while both the AEB and FCW functionality is assessed.

Lane Support System

Road departure is one of the main causes of single-vehicle and frontal crashes. By implementing lateral support systems a significant amount of these accidents can be avoided.

Cognata’s simulation protocols specify the LSS testing procedures as indicated by the Euro NCAP
In order to meet the regulatory
Requirements, and supported by the Lane Line annotation feature.
